FINNEY’S 5: Reactions to price change at pop machine
They doubled the price of a bottle of pop from $1 to $2 at the school’s vending machine the other day.
Even at $2 a bottle, it’s still cheaper than the a gallon of gas, which tastes terrible and will kill you much faster than pop.
Back in my day, you got pop in glass bottles so thick that if you hit some over the head with it, you could put somebody in concussion protocol.
I like pop made with real sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup; it gives you that all-natural diabetes.
When I was a kid, you could get an 8-pack of pop and two dozen eggs for $5 and still have enough money to call your mom from the police station when you got picked up for egging houses and launching Roman candles out of the bottle.
Pop caused mental illness. Evidence? I wanted to be a Pepper, too, but I was never Pepper despite how much Dr Pepper I drank.
