And another thing, any elected officials from Illinois or Kentucky who don’t insist the money saved by not minting them, should be required to ensure the savings be spent on public schools and D.E.I. Programs. Honest Abe would have liked that.
Always thought it was impervious to the meddling of cranky cantankerous picayune politicians needing to get attention. I really don’t care if it’s not worth what they think it should. The way I’ve watched in amusement when clerks try making change with coins and currency these days, proves how much I’ll miss them. Shiny or dull these little Lincoln portraits will forever be dear to my heart. And, you can bet your last two cents there will always be some in my drawer.
