A mother’s good sense, a dog’s simple joy, and a reminder not to let the weather—or the world — make us panic
The meteorologist on one of the local newscasts began her report on Nov. 7 by praising the day’s unseasonable high of 65 degrees.
“I hope you got out and enjoyed it,” she told her audience, “because you’re not going to want to go outside tomorrow.”
The prediction for the following day, a Saturday, was a high of 39 degrees. (Gasp!)
With rain. (Double gasp!)
