Willful ignorance is something one should confront. And, finally a majority of Americans did: witness the 2024 presidential election. The willful ignorance of the Biden administration is finally spilling out for all to view. It’s glorious.
Great essay, Daniel! I am in awe of the people who adamantly believe drumpf’s lies. Most can only counter with their clouded memories of a few of our past president’s comments. Drumpf lies nearly every time he opens his mouth. I’m sure he will say the people attending his stupid parade today will be the “biggest crowd DC has ever seen.”
Good column, Daniel. The willful ignorance of those who swallow lies and call them the truth has been the biggest danger to our republic since fox news came onto the scene. It is going to get much worse before it gets better.
Two points: 1) Barrak Hussein O’s equally biggest lie (among many, many more) was “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” 2) quoting the Washington Post on anything regarding 45/47 is like taking advice from your cheating spouse (oh, and 3rd:) why don’t you line up all the complete disasters Brandon leveled on our beautiful American bothers and sisters? You might stick with trying to be funny with your 5 (or less) lines.
"If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor wasn't a 'lie'. That was on your Doctor-if he refused to accept the payment for services, whether you liked him or not became moot. The Medicare 'advantage' plans have the same philosophy, on steroids. Medicaid is flatly ignored by many Doctors aware of their bottom line forcing them to work at a loss-not many are wealthy enough to operate a 'DeFacto' charity. Fun Fact re: 'Obamacare'. When polled a small majority of people LOVED the Affordable Care Act but rejected Obamacre, not realizing that Conservatives had poisoned it by using his name to bring out the latent racism that lies at the very bottom of Conservative's playbook.
I liked the post because it truthfully tells the way things are now. I don't like that. Great column, however. Is there any way now to Make Honesty Great Again?

Good /awful lesson of recent history.
The lie that continues to pervade and pervert our democracy is the word “news” after the word “Fox.” Where is Walter Cronkite when we need him?
The news is as broken as the political system.
