Shades of "Tail Gunner Joe"! True patriots stood against him and sacrificed careers and livelyhoods in defense of freedom! They didn't need jingoism or a recitation of the Pledge of Alligence to get the job done, just a simple understanding of what this country was all about!

Always remember the turning point in the McCarthy hearings is when Primgar, Iowa, native and Grinnell College alumnus challenged Tail Gunner Joe on the floor of the Senate: "At long last, have you no sense of decency, sir?" The nationally televised moment is often credited with turning public sentiment against McCarthy's witchhunt.
